The export value of Vietnamese plastic products continued to increase but at a lower rate (10.5%) compared to 2021, reaching $5.44 billion. The total revenue was approximately $25.18 billion, an increase of 5.68% compared to the same period.

According to experts, this is because Vietnam’s plastic industry is still unevenly developing and facing certain challenges. One of the main challenges is the dependence on imported petroleum-based raw materials. As a result, the cost of plastic products in Vietnam remains higher than in many other countries in the region.
